CEO of A Work of Heart Therapy & Consulting, PLLC

Hi, I’m Dr. Rios Vega: licensed clinical therapist, social worker, educator, and founder of A Work of Heart Therapy. I'm also the kind of clinician who keeps it real while holding you steady.

I specialize in supporting women of color, millennial women, and high-functioning individuals who appear to “have it all together” but are quietly carrying anxiety, trauma, burnout, or the weight of constantly showing up for everyone else.

I created A Work of Heart Therapy & Consulting because I saw too many people navigating life's challenges without truly feeling seen. Too often, therapy focuses solely on managing symptoms. I believe it should also create space for you to bring your whole self into the room, without feeling the need to over-explain, shrink yourself, or defend your experiences. My goal is to provide a space rooted in cultural humility, emotional safety, genuine connection, and acceptance.

My approach is collaborative, honest, and grounded in the principles of cultural humility, emotional safety, and evidence-based practices; creating a therapeutic space where your lived experiences are honored rather than explained away. I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you as you unpack old patterns, break generational cycles, strengthen boundaries, heal from painful experiences, and build practical tools that support lasting change; not just temporary relief.

Therapy with me isn't about having all the answers or showing up perfectly. It's about showing up authentically. Some sessions will be reflective. Some will challenge you. Some may even include laughter. Through it all, we'll move at a pace that honors your story and your goals.

If you’re ready to feel more grounded, confident, and aligned with who you truly are, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your healing journey.
