So you've finished your MSW degree, congrats! If it is your intent to become an LCSW, there are certain requirements that are expected of of you, per Texas state regulation.

​

• LMSW must secure a supervisor and complete a supervision agreement prior to engaging in any clinical level practice.​

• While under direct supervision, LMSW must obtain 100 total hours of supervision, in no less than 24 months and no longer than 48 months.

  • LMSWs working full-time, must work at least 30 hours per week, in order to complete supervision within 24 months.

  • LMSWs working part-time, must work at least 15 hours per week, in order to complete supervision within 48 months. Part-time employees will need one hour of supervision per 40 work hours (usually 2-3 supervision hours per month).​

• LMSW must obtain 3,000 total work hours prior to submission of paperwork to Texas board, in order to be eligible to sit for clinical exam.​

How do I begin working with you?

Prior to engaging in supervision with me, a few documents will need to be completed: social work supervision agreement and clinical supervision plan. Additionally, if you are not an employee of A Work of Heart Therapy and obtaining your hours from your working site, I will ask you to copy me on an email to your work supervisor, informing them of our intent to begin LCSW supervision, together.
