Do the Work: Cultural Humility in Practice
Because good intentions aren’t enough.

You can be a great therapist… and still miss cultural moments in session.
This training helps you recognize them—and respond differently in real time.

What is this training about?

This training moves beyond theory and focuses on practical clinical application.

Participants will engage in:

  • real-world case scenarios

  • reflective discussion

  • common clinical missteps

  • culturally responsive reframes

  • practical language clinicians can use immediately in session

This is not a shame-based training.
It is a space for reflection, accountability, growth, and skill-building.

What you'll walk away with:

After this training, participants will:

✔️ Recognize subtle cultural missteps that commonly occur in therapy sessions

✔️ Increase confidence navigating cultural dynamics in real time

✔️ Learn practical strategies for responding more intentionally and effectively

✔️ Understand how systemic factors impact client experiences and engagement

✔️ Explore ways to adapt clinical approaches without imposing personal values

✔️ Gain tools for repair, accountability, and culturally responsive care

✔️ Strengthen awareness of how intention and impact can differ in clinical relationships

Who is this training for?

This training is designed for:

  • social workers

  • therapists

  • counselors

  • clinical interns and associates

  • helping professionals working with diverse populations

It is especially beneficial for clinicians who:

  • feel confident in theory, but less confident in application

  • want to strengthen their work with BIPOC clients

  • are open to reflection, growth, and discomfort

  • want practical guidance—not just concepts

If you’ve ever thought:

“I understand cultural humility… but I don’t always know how to navigate these moments in session.”

This training is for you.

What makes this training different?

Many cultural trainings focus heavily on terminology, theory, or broad concepts.

This training focuses on: real clinical moments

We explore:

  • how cultural disconnection happens in session

  • what clinicians often miss unintentionally

  • how discomfort impacts decision-making

  • what culturally responsive engagement can actually sound like in practice

Participants are not expected to be perfect.

They are encouraged to:

  • reflect honestly

  • engage intentionally

  • and continue developing cultural humility as an ongoing practice.
